The University Compliance Office is staffed
with three compliance auditors. At this time, they mainly
perform research compliance audits, with a planned phase-in
of audits in other compliance areas.
The research compliance audits test compliance
with federal regulations and Washington University's policies
surrounding research.
Audits are performed on a proactive basis,
in accordance with the University Compliance Office's risk
assessment. Special, investigative audits may also occur as
a result of calls to the compliance hotline or to the University's
Office of General Counsel.
